Motordriven fläkt förstör husets självdrag

Det är inte tillåtet att koppla motordrivna fläktar till husets ventilationssystem, eftersom de förstör självdraget i huset. Har du en motorfläkt i din lägenhet så måste du bekosta att den tas bort, även om den var där när du flyttade in.

Självdraghus bygger på att varmluft stiger i huset, från lägenheternas köksventilation och de runda ventilerna i rummen, upp genom luftkanaler i vägg och murstock, för att till slut gå ut genom utluftsfläktarna på hustaken. När luften stiger och går ut skapas ett undertryck som är drivkraften för luftomsättningen i huset.

Om en lägenhet använder en motordrivna fläkt stiger trycket på fel ställen i ventilationen så att självdraget förstörs. Det leder till att begagnad luft och stekos går ut hos grannarna i stället för att föras hela vägen ut. 

Observera att det inte hjälper om köksfläkten använder kolfilter, eftersom problemet är lufttrycket, inte hur smutsig luften är.

De enda motorfläktar som är tillåtna är de som skickar tillbaka luften in i den egna lägenheten.

Om det satt en motordriven fläkt i köket när du köpte lägenheten så har du också fått med dig ansvaret för att ta bort den. Har du fått bristfällig information från säljarna så kan du förstås begära ersättning från dem, men du har fortfarande ett ansvar mot föreningen att byta ut fläkten.

It is not allowed to connect motorized fans to the building’s ventilation system, as this disrupts the natural airflow (self-draft). If you have a motorized fan in your apartment, you are responsible for the cost of its removal, even if it was there when you moved in. 

Self-draft ventilation works by allowing warm air to rise naturally through the building. Air flows from the kitchen ventilation and room vents, up through ducts in the walls and chimney, and exits through exhaust vents on the roof. As air rises and escapes, it creates negative pressure, which drives fresh air circulation throughout the building. 

Using a motorized fan in an apartment interferes with this system by creating pressure in the wrong areas, disrupting the natural airflow. As a result, stale air and cooking fumes may be pushed into neighboring apartments instead of being properly vented outside. 

Please note that even if your kitchen fan has a carbon filter, it does not solve the issue, as the problem is with air pressure, not air cleanliness. 

The only motorized fans allowed are those that recirculate air within the same apartment. 

If a motorized fan was installed in your kitchen when you bought the apartment, you are still responsible for its removal. If the seller failed to inform you about this issue, you may seek compensation from them. However, you are still obligated to comply with the housing association’s regulations and replace the fan.
