Garage doors

Now during the winter, especially during rapid weather changes, it is easy to have problems with your garage door. Many of the problems can be fixed on your own and can be avoided. Below are some of the most common problems and how to fix them.

·        In the event of snowfall, it is important to shovel in front of the gate. When the snow is not shoveled away, it follows in and creates ice banks at the gate. This means that the ice dam causes the gate to be unable to be closed, but it automatically goes up again.
In case of ice below the door, you must chop away the ice with the ice picks on each short side of the garage or invest in deicing salt to remove the ice.

·        If you have problems with the gate not opening, you can use the emergency opener to open the gate manually.
At the top of the gate is a keyhole that can be unlocked with a small key. When you unlock this, a plunger comes out that you can pull to expose the gate. Now you can easily pull/push open the gate by hand. To restore this, the gate must be fully open, inside the motor there is a red handle that you pull to lock the free position and the gate is now controlled with the motor and the door opener again.

·        If the garage door is frozen solid, you can use a shovel or ice pick and insert it under the door to push it open, either by exposing the door first or pressing the door opener while pushing the door up from below.
