HSB Living Lab is located on the Chalmers campus and was completed in 2016. This dynamic arena for research and innovation includes homes for students and guest researchers.
HSB Living Lab is so much more than just a building – it is a living laboratory with room for groundbreaking research. The building has twenty-nine apartments where residents live in an environment which is ever-changing and regularly evaluated. The scientists are constantly testing new technical innovations, a ventilated wardrobe and solar panels are just two examples. All research data is collected with sensors and measuring stations. These studies provide valuable insight for the production of future housing.
HSB Living Lab collaborates with several partners who all share a focus on social, economic and ecological sustainability. The ultimate goal is to create smart technology for the project Good Living for the third generation.
