Renovations in Apartments

Over the past year, the board has worked on developing new documents outlining the guidelines for apartment renovations. Below, you can find the guidelines in addition to what is regulated in the association's bylaws.

Timelines to Follow: Renovation work of a disruptive nature must be communicated to other residents in the stairwell well in advance and should be carried out during daytime hours. Disruptive work may only be conducted on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM and on Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. No disruptive work is allowed on Sundays. Examples of disruptive work include chiseling, drilling, and hammering.

Are you planning maintenance, installing new equipment, or renovating your apartment?
Please read the relevant document with guidelines below. Then, fill out the "APPLICATION for Apartment Renovation" form and submit it along with relevant attachments to the board's mailbox at Stallgatan 15 at least four weeks before the planned start of work.

A representative from the board typically responds within three weeks after receiving the application (subject to holiday periods and major holidays). If it takes longer than that, please feel free to contact us via email at styrelsen@brfsmedby.se.

PLEASE NOTE that:

  • A more detailed description of the provisions regarding significant changes in the apartments can be found in the housing association's Bylaws.
  • An application is not required for renovations of surface finishes, such as flooring, wallpaper, and painting.
